Compliance

Build important controls into the operation.

A control that lives in a policy document is easy to skip on a busy day. A control that sits in the workflow is not: here, a competition cannot publish until its checks pass.

PrizeHQ does not provide legal advice and software controls do not remove an operator’s responsibility to comply with applicable law and regulation.

Controls

What the platform checks, records and holds.

Operator configuration
Your business details, contacts, policies and legal pages are part of setup, not an afterthought.
Competition validation
Every competition declares a legal model. Publishing runs the rule checks for that model, and one marked for review cannot publish.
Free entry
A free entry route is offered with the same prominence as paid entry, and free and paid entries carry identical weight in the draw. The draw never knows which route an entry took.
Player protection
Age declaration, spend limits, player-chosen pauses and operator suspensions, with a desk for interventions. These are not experiment surfaces and are never A/B tested.
Versioned rules
Rule thresholds live as versioned data, not in code, so you can show which rules applied to which competition and when.
Audit events
Material actions are recorded with who, what and when. Financial and audit history is never deleted; corrections are new entries.
Kill switches
Sales, top-ups and games can be paused quickly while withdrawals, winners and records stay available to players.

Launch readiness

Business checks before real money.

Before a site takes real entries, its operator submits business evidence against a checklist: company identity, directors, addresses, merchant and bank arrangements, policies and more.

  • You submit a reference for each item
  • Only platform staff can approve an item; the database itself prevents self-approval
  • Approved items are locked, and the launch gate reads them directly

The onboarding checklist: you submit evidence, we review it.

Records

Evidence you can hand over.

  • Evidence packs that assemble a competition’s records without exposing personal data
  • Winner verification recorded before a prize can be marked claimed
  • Regular sweeps that re-run publish checks against live competitions
  • A trust page that shows players what your site discloses

Professional advice

What software cannot do for you.

The law that applies to your competitions depends on how you run them. Tools make good practice easier to follow and easier to prove. They do not make an operation lawful, and nothing on this site should be read as saying so. Take professional advice on your model before you launch.

Questions

Straight answers.

Does using PrizeHQ make my competitions compliant?

No. It gives you controls, records and checks. Responsibility for operating lawfully stays with you as the operator.

Can I switch a control off to improve conversion?

Protective friction such as free-entry prominence, spend controls and significant conditions is not configurable away and is never A/B tested.

Who decides my business checks?

Platform staff review the evidence you submit. An operator cannot approve its own checklist.
